About the Role
As a Personal Care Assistant (PCA), you will be responsible for supporting individuals with their daily living activities, ensuring they receive high-quality, compassionate care. This Expression of Interest is for upcoming positions in various settings, including aged care facilities, home care, and hospital environments.
Your responsibilities may include:
- Assisting with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and feeding.
- Supporting patients with mobility and transfers.
- Helping with medication reminders and assisting with daily activities.
- Providing companionship and emotional support to clients.
- Documenting and reporting changes in client conditions to the care team.
- Ensuring a clean and safe environment for clients.
- Assisting in rehabilitation activities as directed by the healthcare team.
Key Requirements:
- Certificate III in Individual Support (or equivalent) or Certificate IV in Aged Care (preferred).
- Previous experience as a Personal Care Assistant (PCA) or in a similar role (preferred).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Compassionate and patient-centered approach to care.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards.
- Willingness to work flexible shifts, including evenings and weekends (for some roles).
- Current National Police Check (or willingness to obtain one).
